How Mines works
- 1Choose mines
Pick how many of the 25 tiles are mines (1–24). More mines mean higher payouts and higher risk.
- 2Reveal tiles
Click tiles to reveal them. Each safe tile raises your multiplier.
- 3Cash out
Bank your winnings any time before hitting a mine.
- 4Hit a mine
Reveal a mine and you lose the bet for that round.
Multiplier growth — 3 mines, per safe tile
The math & house edge
Mine positions are set provably-fairly, so they cannot be known in advance. After each safe reveal the multiplier rises based on the shrinking probability of the next tile being safe — formally, the product of (remaining tiles ÷ remaining safe tiles), scaled by the 0.99 edge factor. With 3 mines, revealing 5 safe tiles reaches roughly 2×; pushing further grows the multiplier but also the chance of busting.
Strategy & honest reality
The core decision is when to cash out: each extra tile increases your multiplier but also your bust probability. There is no safe pattern — tiles are random. A common approach is to set a target number of tiles and always cash out there, rather than getting greedy. More mines = bigger payouts but faster losses. The 1% edge makes long-term profit impossible.
