Hit frequency is how often a slot lands any winning spin, shown as a percentage. A 25% hit frequency means about one in four spins wins something. It is separate from RTP and volatility: a slot can pay often but in tiny amounts (high frequency, low volatility) or rarely but big (low frequency, high volatility).
High hit frequency feels smoother but does not mean higher overall returns.
