FAQ
What is the optimal Mines strategy?
Every cashout point has the same negative EV. Optimal strategy is whichever variance profile you prefer — fewer mines for low variance, more for high.
How is the multiplier calculated?
Multiplier = (1 − house_edge) × C(25, gems) / C(25 − mines, gems), where C is the binomial coefficient.
Should I cashout early or chase high multipliers?
Both have identical EV. Early cashouts give frequent small wins; chasing gives rare big wins. Choose by risk preference.
Can I beat Mines with skill?
No. Tile selection is independent of placement. The first reveal is always 50/50 between gem and mine, scaled by your mine count.
