Why parlays are tempting and how their risk compounds.
A parlay (accumulator) combines several events into one bet, multiplying the odds — hence a large potential payout from a small stake. But risk grows multiplicatively: if even one leg fails, the whole parlay loses. On top of that, the bookmaker margin compounds across each outcome, so long parlays are statistically worse value than singles. If you play parlays, keep them short and within your bankroll.
