Originals vs slots — what's different

Stake Originals are mathematically simpler than slots. There is no jackpot, no progressive multiplier, no bonus buy. The mechanic is exposed: you set parameters, the RNG produces an outcome, the multiplier is calculated, payout is settled.

This transparency is the appeal: the entire game model fits in one paragraph and you can verify every result. Slots, by contrast, hide their math behind feature animations and the math is only published as RTP — a 96% number that says nothing about variance, hit frequency, or feature distribution.

Common Originals math principles

Every Stake Original (with rare exceptions like Blackjack) uses the same payout formula: multiplier = fair_multiplier × (1 − house_edge). The fair_multiplier comes from pure probability calculation; the house_edge constant scales it down by 1%.

This makes the math invariant: whether you play Plinko on low or high risk, Mines with 1 mine or 24, Dice with 2% or 98% win chance — the EV per dollar wagered is identical. What changes is only the shape of the variance curve.

How to verify provably fair
